In Russia there are several official holidays when public institutions and banks are closed.

State holidays

1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^thJanuary – New Year vacation
7^th January - Christmas
23^rd February – Day of Motherland Protectors
8^th March – International Women’s Day
1^st May – Labor Day
9^th May – Day of Victory
12^th June – Day of Russia
4^th November – Day of People’s Unity

Stores, cafes and other enterprises have their own timetable usually displayed on their doors.
